Experience at a Fast Food Place - Most of you will relate
As an indecisive mind is analyzing the available "food" options for lunch, there - not even three feet away from her, behind the counter is the sizzling sound of the precooked french fries being lowered into the boiling oil. The pressure is on now that it seems to be her turn to order as she is greeted by a uniformed adolescent with a hair net. She hurries to try to gather her thoughts as she sees behind the counter humans turned into machines as they try to deliver the food quicker than their bodies can... it is a rushed environment. As much as she wanted to avoid ordering the same "meal", as usual she blurted out, "Can I have a number 2 with a small vanilla shake?". The machine quickly takes her money, gives her back the change and goes on turbo. It fills the cup with the shake and quickly packs a paper bag, of fries, the shake and two cheeseburgers. It then yells, "Next!" and in less than five minutes the girl has what she calls lunch. She grabs a bunch of ketchup packets, napkins and a straw...things that are available to the consumer in abundance. She then sits on a cold plastic bench, puts her heavy bags down, rips the paper bag and grabs the cheeseburger first. Through the wrapper she feels the sesame seeds. She removes the wrapper and begins to dig in. Luckily the change she kept from her meal today will suffice for another meal here tomorrow. McDonald's must be happy.

NATHALIE :: Welcome to MY blog.
So my name is Nathalie. This is my first blog post. I would have much preferred my own talk show but good things are worth waiting for. I wouldn't have used my real name for the blog (I'm SUPER uncomfortable with this) but it's required for my english class. I'm an Aries; Just wanted to warn the internet about it =].
COOKING- M y H i d d e n T a l e n t
I love eating. (I love a whole bunch of other things too but this blogs for the class). I just recently moved in with my boyfriend so I do a whole lot more cooking than I'm used to and I'm actually pretty good. I have burnt my fair share of rice but practice makes perfect. On vacation I was cooking up to 5 times a week before my first day of college which just started. I also work four days a week so now I'll be balancing work and school and still have to find the time to cook. I have to cook because it is cheaper to just purchase many groceries and cook than it is to constantly buy food, as it is healthier. Once in a while I'll eat out but I recently watched Supersize Me, the movie (For those that live in a cave like I do), for the first time and became SEVERELY disgusted with fast food. I can safely say that I have been traumatized. 0_o
GROCERY SHOPPING- M y G u i l t y P l e a s u r e
Before I go grocery shopping, I go around to as many supermarkets as I can get to walking and I take each of their weekly updated sales papers and try to purchase the quality products that are on sale from each supermarket. Conveniently located two blocks away though, is a Trade Fair Supermarket that is open 24 hours and with colliding schedules, that's usually where Rabbit and I get our groceries. Rabbit is my boyfriend and NO his name is not really Rabbit. Trade Fair does have its own line of products and groceries but I try to stay away from their brand as much as possible. The same goes for any supermarket that has their own brand. For some reason those brands are my last resort; my mind set is that those are not quality groceries.
THE FOODS I EAT AND PREPARE- C u l t u r e
I probably sound like one of those obsessive vegans (WHICH I WILL NEVER BE) that only likes to shop at places like WHOLE FOODS and things (or not ; whatever) but I'm not the healthiest person in the world. Since I've moved out I have lessened the amount of rice consumption just because I have gotten very frustrated with burning it constantly. It's like I leave it alone for like TWO minutes ((mind you I'm still in the kitchen)) and all of a sudden something smells like its in the process of burning... Grrr. But before now, I would have rice seven out of the seven days of the week, I mean even still I eat rice at LEAST four days in a week. I'm Colombian. Rice is a must. Other than rice I usually make chicken or meat for Rabbit because I'm not a fan of red meat... I also like to make salads... and then there's that inner creativity that once in a while makes me tried something different.
NO KNOWLEDGE- A b o u t A n y t h i n g = ]
Honestly I have no idea where my food comes from... I usually get perdue chicken but I don't really know too much about it. I find that quite disappointing considering my grandfather owned a farm and my entire father's side was raised on it.
And that's my blog. Abruptly ended it because I found out all my classmates were REQUIRED to read it.
Sorry guys. Still I hope you enjoy reading and following my blogs.
